Health care to dominate discussion at UM Board of Curators meeting

The UM Board of Curators will hear a detailed report Thursday afternoon from MU Health Care’s chief executive officer.

Jonathan Curtright will present a report to the board at today’s meeting, which begins at 1. MU Health Care has about 7,500 employees, making it one of mid-Missouri’s largest employers. They also have clinics is neighboring towns like Ashland and Boonville.

MU Health is building a new $232-million Children’s Hospital, and they’ve also made investments in towns like Boonville.

Today’s meeting will take place at the $220-million NextGen Precision Health building. UM System President Dr. Mun Choi predicts it will reduce the cost of health care. President Choi tells 939 the Eagle that clinicians and researchers work side-by-side in the NextGen facility.
