Heat advisory for much of mid-Missouri Friday

We could see record high temperatures Friday in mid-Missouri.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most of the area lasting until 7 p.m. Heat index values could rise as high as 105 during the afternoon.

Here is a list of Columbia cooling centers:

• Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) at 1701 W. Ash St.
• Boone County Government Center at 801 E. Walnut St.
• Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services at 1005 W. Worley St.
• Salvation Army Harbor House at 602 N. Ann St.
• St. Francis House at 901 Range Line St.
