Heath announces bid for mayor

Tanya Heath made it official this week. She’s running for mayor of Columbia. She says criminal activity, misplaced priorities and lack of director from city leaders as key priorities in her official announcement. Heath is a journalism instructor at MU. She’ll be running against mayor Barbara Buffaloe in the municipal election April 8. The candidate filing period remains open through Dec. 31.
