The work week is ending with some heavy rainfall that could produce flooding in mid-Missouri.

Emergency crews said there’s a good chance local creeks in Boone County could reach flood state throughout this weekend. A flash flood watch is in effect for several mid-Missouri counties until 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Between midnight and 4 a.m. Friday, Columbia Regional Airport recorded close to two inches of rain. The National Weather Service forecasted about four inches of rain over the next three days.
