High-speed chase in mid-Missouri ends with arrest

A wanted Saint Louis man leads several local cops on a long high-speed chase.

Investigators say James Hunt ran a stop light on Columbia’s Conley Road near Highway 63 at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

He allegedly took off down Highway 63 from there, sometimes at more than 100 mph. Authorities say he almost hit an Ashland police vehicle along the way.

Deputies say Hunt drove around for about 45 minutes, and 53 miles, before he finally wound up at a dead end on Jefferson Street in Jefferson City. He was arrested there, allegedly with a stolen gun out of St. Louis in his car. He’s also facing charges over a domestic violence incident in Columbia.
