MoDot starts to put new safety measures on Highway 54 on Monday.
Contractors are putting in guardrails and guard cables along Route 54, from Jefferson City at the Stadium Blvd. intersection to the Miller County line. Crews will also be making some changes to the pavement.
Watch for lane closures on Highway 54 both directions during the work.
The whole project is scheduled for completion on Nov. 1.
