The Highway Patrol is honoring the Nordmans on Friday in New Florence. Julie Nordman and the late Randy Nordman are receiving the Honorary Trooper Certificate.
Authorities say wanted murderer Pablo Serrano-Vitorino got in a fight with Randy Nordman near Nordman’s Montgomery County home and killed him in 2016. Mr. Nordman tried to take away a rifle. Authorities say his wife, Julie, called 911, and kept giving them information on Serrano-Vitorino even after her husband was shot.
Serrano-Vitorino was caught hours later. He died by suicide in his jail cell this April, before he went to trial.
