The Highway Patrol has announced a homicide investigation in mid-Missouri.
Troopers responded to a crash the night of Dec. 13 on I-70 a little west of the Boonville exits near mile marker 96 in Cooper County. They found a Sioux Falls, South Dakota woman, 40-year-old Melissa Peskey, dead in the driver’s seat.
An autopsy on Dec. 17 found she was shot to death, from a gun fired outside the car. No info on suspects yet.
