We now have more details from the police-involved shooting in Fulton.
The Highway Patrol says Cody McCaulou, 25, of Columbia died in the hospital from gunshot injuries on Tuesday.
The incident occurred Monday near McIntire Elementary School when an officer tried to stop him for suspicious activity.
McCaulou refused and then started speeding toward the officer, who then fired his gun into the car. Two other occupants in McCaulou’s car were not hurt.
Fulton police placed the officer on leave. The investigation is still ongoing.
