Voters in northeast Columbia’s third ward are casting ballots today (Tuesday) in a historic runoff election.
Incumbent Councilman Karl Skala and challenger Roy Lovelady tied in the April election with 1,102 votes. There has never been a tie in a city election until this one.
Mr. Skala has served on the city council for 12 years and is seeking his fifth term. He cites his institutional memory, leadership experience and community access.
Mr. Lovelady says the third ward needs someone who will help them learn from is happening on the council, and about the issues impacting their neighborhood.
