Home destroyed by fire was ‘vacant and unsecured’

The house that burned on Lakeview Ave. in Columbia Friday morning was “vacant and unsecured,” according to a press release from the city. That’s just northeast of the Business Loop intersection wtih Range Line near the city’s power plant. Firefighters were dispatched at 3:51 a.m. They arrived within three minutes to find the single-family structure fully engulfed with flames. Fire marshals are investigating.
