Weather conditions were perfect for Sunday afternoon’s annual Columbia Christmas parade against poverty.
It was hosted by the Salvation Army in Columbia and took place along Broadway from Hitt to Providence. Hundreds of people lined both sides of Broadway, including many children of all ages. They were excited to see Santa Claus and there were also church floats, Girl Scouts, dancers and Harley Davidson riders.
Zimmer Communications, which owns 939 the Eagle, was one of numerous sponsors. Zimmer’s Y-107, Clear-99, KTGR and the Eagle had staff and vans in the parade and provided candy to children and some adults too.
