Invenergy takes over operation of Grain Belt Express

Some landowners said they do not want big power poles on their land. But Beth Conley and Invenergy do plan to use eminent domain as they run the Grain Belt Express wind energy project across the state.

“We will continue to make sure that we are responsive and are able to provide information going forward so that we can make sure that everyone feels included and part of the process, and that those questions that were raised are answered,” Conley said to Missourinet.

State lawmakers tried to pass a bill this year blocking Grain Belt from using eminent domain for the private project, but it stalled.

Invenergy is the new owner of the Grain Belt Express. The multi-state project crosses our area in Chariton, Randolph, and Monroe counties.
