Are the days numbered for Jefferson City’s airport terminal?

City Operations Division Director Britt Smith says the building was badly damaged by floodwaters.

“We have suspended working on it, because we’re just not sure that that’s the best use of the resources to try to do something to it,” Smith says. “We’re regrouping now, saying maybe we need to punt and think about a different plan.”

The terminal houses the airport manager and other staff, plus the contractor that runs the restaurant. Smith says officials are now concentrating on getting the damaged control tower and runway lights back up to speed.
