An elderly Jefferson City man has been killed in a horrific crash on Highway 50, near the 179 off-ramp. JCPD’s traffic unit is still investigating the crash.
Jefferson City Police say 78-year-old David Mueller was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The crash happened as Mueller and another motorist were westbound on 50 approaching the 179 off-ramp. JCPD investigators say Mueller’s vehicle suddenly veered into the second vehicle’s lane and they collided. Mueller’s Chrysler skidded off the road, then struck several trees and an embankment. The passenger in Mueller’s vehicle, 75-year-old Anne Mueller, sustained moderate injuries.
The second vehicle’s driver was not injured.
