JCPS fires former tech employee over alleged data breach

A Jefferson City school system employee at the center of a lawsuit with the district has been fired.

The board took the action Friday against Tammy Ferry. Ferry, the former technology instruction coordinator at JCPS, is accused of copying and transferring student information files into a personal folder. The district also claimed Ferry violated terms of her paid leave.

Ferry says she’ll appeal.
