JCPS superintendent talks snow closings, delays

First an early out for Jefferson City kids this week, then Thursday’s snow forces a 2-hour late start.

“We’ve done 2-hour late starts before,” Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum said. “We have that in place to be able to do that. If we can make that decision ahead of time, we will do that to be able to give parents time to make day care arrangements.”

Linthacum says they have snow days built into the schedule.

While Jefferson City’s public schools stayed in session this week, the snow forced many other area schools to close.
