JCPS works to settle boundary line debate ahead of new high school

The Jefferson City School Board tries to settle the debate over which students will attend the new Capital City High School.

Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum says the group decided that Thorpe Gordon Elementary kids will no longer attend both middle schools.

“Some of the students that attend Thorpe Gordon attend Lewis and Clark, and some will attend Thomas Jefferson,” said Linthacum. “We made a change to where all students that attend Thorpe Gordon attend Lewis and Clark.”

Those students would ultimately go on to the current JC High.

Another change would send eventually some kids, but not all, at Cedar Hill Elementary to the new Capital City High School.

The changes kick in the fall or 2019.
