What happened to the bill designed to get a 100-acre plot of land for Jefferson City’s proposed river port?
Representative Rudy Veit says time just ran out.
“It ultimately got passed in the [Missouri] House, [but] in the Senate it got tied up with the last-minute filibusters.”
Veit plans to reintroduce the bill in the 2020 session. The Heartland Port Authority would like to base the river port on the land near the Algoa prison.
