Jefferson City considering how to handle scooters in town

Should Jefferson City follow Columbia’s lead and make some money off the popularity of the Spin bikes and electric scooters?

Ashley Varner says it’s something they could look at if the bikes and scooters become more popular here.

“No taxpayer dollars are being used to have these in our community, and we are also not making any revenue to have them here.”

Varner has ramrodded the effort of getting the bikes and scooters in Jefferson City. Columbia city leaders require the suppliers there to pay up
front and also charge them for each scooter the contractor has in the city.
