With at least one downtown Jefferson City building crumbling from years of water damage and neglect, could more be on the way?
Jamie Abbott with the city says an inspector is willing to take a look at any building if asked by an owner.
“[The inspector will] take a look at your building and provide any feedback and any suggestions as to what you can do to avoid something like this from happening,” Abbott says.
Several of the buildings in downtown Jefferson City date to the late 1800’s. A building at Madison and High started partially collapsing in June.
