A man is dead after a house fire in Jefferson City.
Firefighters saw heavy smoke when they got to the house on Mulberry Street at about 4 a.m. Sunday. They got 35-year-old Steven Davis out of the home, but he later died.
Investigators say the fire caused about $75,000 in damages. It apparently started in the laundry area.
