Jefferson City hotel pays fine to settle harassment lawsuit

A Jefferson City hotel is paying $45,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced the settlement Tuesday in the case involving the DoubleTree Hotel. The EEOC says a room inspector regularly made offensive sexual comments to a female housekeeper.

The DoubleTree’s parent company has to pay damages to the housekeeper, and set up policies and procedures to keep the harassment from happening again.
