A Jefferson City man will spend eight years in prison after admitting to attempted armed robbery.
A judge handed down the sentence to Tarique Shelton last week. He was one of four people accused of robbing someone on Ventura Avenue in January 2020. Investigators say the suspects held a gun and knife at the victim, while they stole a gun, money and electronics.
Shelton was originally charged with first degree robbery, but his charge was reduced to attempted robbery.
