Jefferson City firefighters confirm the Probation and Parole district office on West Main street is a total loss, after Thursday’s blaze. The fire closed streets and also caused heat damage at a nearby building.
Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC) spokeswoman Karen Pojmann tells 939 the Eagle that they’ve relocated the P&P district employees to Probation and Parole’s central office on nearby Knipp drive.
Pojmann says Probation and Parole officers have been working remotely, so they already have the flexibility to supervise probationers and parolees through home visits, workplace visits and video conferencing.
