Jefferson City sets deadline for tornado debris pickup

Public Works crews in Jefferson City have set a deadline for people to get their debris out to the curb for pickup.

According to a press release, crews will make a final pass through  neighborhoods on June 17th to pick up the last of the debris.

Tree limbs and other vegetation can still be taken to the drop site at Capitol Quarry off Shamrock Road until the end of the month.

ABC 17 News reports Cole County has instituted a similar deadline.

The Cole County Commission also decided Tuesday to waive building permit fees for homes damaged by the tornado.
