Judge recuses himself in Cole assessor assault case

A Cole County judge recuses himself in the case against another county official.

Associate circuit judge Cotton Walker won’t hear the misdemeanor assault case against assessor Chris Estes. Estes is accused of punching a neighbor during a property line dispute in June.

Another Cole County judge will be assigned to the case.
