Jury selection starts Tuesday in Columbia’s Buffalo Wild Wings shooting

Jury selection is scheduled to begin at 9 Tuesday morning at the Boone County Courthouse in the case of a man charged with the August 2024 shooting inside Buffalo Wild Wings on Columbia’s East Nifong.

38-year-old Alexis Gonzalez is charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Court documents allege that Gonzalez allegedly “shot a man in the face over an unpaid bar tab while intoxicated” at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Judge Stephanie Morrell has ordered a pool of 70 prospective jurors to be at the courthouse this morning for jury selection. Boone County prosecutor Roger Johnson is prosecuting this case and the defense attorney is Jeffery Hilbrenner.
