Boonville economic development officials are encouraging anyone interested in working at Kawasaki’s Boonville plant to attend a meet-and-greet Tuesday evening in Columbia.
The event will be held from 6-8 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center, and potential applicants are encouraged to bring their resume with them,
Kawasaki announced in October that it’s building the Boonville plant, near I-70. They plan to create more than 270 jobs.
State economic development officials say the average wage of the 270 jobs is “well above the average for Cooper County.” The average wage in Cooper County is about $35,000.
Kawasaki is also offering ten-hour four-day workweeks in Boonville.
