Ameren officials say they are slowing the flow of water through the flood gates at Bagnell Dam.
Levels on the Lake of the Ozarks have dropped a couple feet since a peak at 663.83 feet on Monday.
Spokesman Warren Witt says Ameren will slow the flow of water through the dam gradually before shutting flood gates within a week.
That’s good news for property owners southwest of Camdenton, where the water is receding in the flooded out Cottage Drive neighborhood. Nine families are still out of their homes there, and power has been cut to the neighborhood. Residents say it will still be about a day or two before they can get back into their homes. Some residents are seeing their docks disconnect and float away, with boats still attached.
