Largest coronavirus case increase in Boone County; more than 1,000 COVID-19 deaths statewide

Boone County reports its largest increase in coronavirus cases since the pandemic began.

Another 25 people have tested positive. As of Tuesday, 108 cases are active. More than half of the total cases are people younger than age 30.

Cole County picked up three new cases Tuesday. Saline County also added four new positives. There was one new positive in Moniteau County.

The state saw another high increase Tuesday, with 508 new cases reported. More than 1,000 Missourians have died from COVID-19, with 17 more deaths reported Tuesday. That total is now at 1,015.
