The Missouri Supreme Court has set the latest execution date for Russell Bucklew.
The man convicted of a Cape Girardeau killing in 1996 is set for lethal injection on October 1.
Bucklew has gotten two stays of execution, in 2014 and last year. His attorneys have argued a rare medical condition would cause Bucklew an unconstitutional amount of pain during lethal injections.
