Lawmakers talk eliminating personal property taxes

If voters decide to eliminate personal property taxes in Missouri, would lawmakers just come up with a next tax to replace those lost funds?

While Cole County Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher jokes about it, he does think they’d still have to find county funding somewhere else.

“I think about it every time I go pay it.  Because if you don’t pay that property tax they can go take it away from you.”

‘STOPP’ 20-20 is being supported by Gary Nolan. The question could end up on your ballot next year.
