Letter, demonstration challenge Boone County restrictions

Boone County’s restrictions on businesses because of coronavirus concerns are facing organized pushback.

Eng and Woods law firm sent Columbia and Boone County leaders a letter on Tuesday from several local business owners and others. The letter says the limits the county has on top of the state’s guidelines are hurting the local economy.

93.9 The Eagle’s Gary Nolan is organizing a protest against the restrictions in front of Columbia City Hall at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.

So this letter states that the Local Health Department order is unconstitutional. However, Governor Parsons has stated several times that each individual county/city can legally impose more strict rules just not more lenient than the state order.
