Lincoln University officials lobby lawmakers at the capitol

Lincoln University’s president and other leaders spent Tuesday at the state Capitol.

They are lobbying lawmakers ahead of what could be another tough year for higher education funding.

“Our main focus when we started this several years ago was to push for land grant matching funds, and so that’s still our main push,” Lincoln spokeswoman Misty Young says.

Young says those state matching dollars help to bring in federal dollars that fund research and agriculture programs at the university.
