Classes are underway at Jefferson City’s historic Lincoln University.

It’s the first year of Dr. John Moseley’s full leadership as president. Dr. Moseley tells 939 the Eagle that there’s a lot of energy on campus.

“It’s exciting to get this year started. It’s a tremendous institution with a storied history, and we’re just trying to positively contribute to its future success,” Dr. Moseley says.

He says enrollment is up.

“We’ve seen upwards of 22, 23 percent (increase) in first-year students, which is a great way to jump-start an increase in enrollment. We’re expecting it to be up overall,” says Moseley.

The 2022-2023 academic year marks the first year of Dr. Moseley’s full leadership as president. He’ll be formally vested with the role in a September 9th ceremony.

Historic Lincoln University opened its doors in 1866.
