Lincoln University’s animal research facility remains closed, after hazardous materials incident

Jefferson City firefighters say three people have been taken to a hospital for inhalation and for surface burns, after Thursday’s acid spill at Lincoln University.

Firefighters say it happened just before 5 pm at LU’s small animal research facility, which had to be evacuated. The animal research facility remains closed this morning.

Jefferson City fire chief Matt Schofield says there’s minor damage to the facility, due to the spill. Four ambulances responded to the scene.
