Lineworkers from Missouri heading to hurricane path

Missouri’s electric cooperatives are pitching in to help as Hurricane Florence makes it way toward the Atlantic coast.

162 Missouri cooperative line workers are on their way to South Carolina, including eight linemen from Boone Electric Cooperative.

The workers will help in the cleanup after the storm has passed as well as with the power restoration efforts.

The linemen left early Thursday morning, but are expected to remain out of harm’s way until the storm has passed.
