Two familiar names in mid-Missouri, Larry Atterberry Sr. and his wife Judy, founded Atterberry Auction & Realty Company 54 years ago, in 1970. Tim and Crystal Elliott of Columbia purchased Atterberry Auction & Realty Company in 2019 and the company continues to grow across mid-Missouri. They broke ground for their new headquarters earlier this year. Tim Elliott joined host Fred Parry in-studio for the hour Saturday morning on 939 the Eagle’s “CEO Roundtable” and talked extensively about the business. Mr. Elliott is considered to be one of Columbia’s top business leaders but it wasn’t easy for him. He grew up in Moberly, which is about 35 miles north of Columbia. He worked at his family’s business, Mid-Am Building Supplies. Mr. Elliott worked in the warehouse and loaded trucks at times. He’s also sold chemicals and was a radio sales person in mid-Missouri for a time. Tim is a proud Columbia College graduate. Tim and Crystal Elliott made a leadership commitment to help fund the installation of the new videoboard at Mizzou Arena. The new videoboard replaced the old one from 2013. It features four main video screens that are 16 feet by 24 feet apiece, with a pair of underbelly displays. The Elliott family has donated to Mizzou football and Mizzou men’s and women’s basketball in the past and are Tiger Scholarship fund donors. Mr. Elliott talked about the importance of giving back on the “CEO Roundtable”, and also talked about his donations to Columbia’s Our Lady of Lourdes parish and school, Fr. Tolton school and numerous other mid-Missouri schools, including Columbia College. He also talked about the most expensive thing he’s auctioned off:
