Despite dreary weather, there was a big turnout at Midway Golf and Games for Wednesday evening’s open house for motorists to learn details of the $441-million plan to rebuild and expand I-70 between Rocheport and Columbia.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says more than 180 people attended last night, in addition to the 200 who attended this week’s open house at Boone Electric. Improve I-70 director Eric Kopinski tells 939 the Eagle that MoDOT wants that public feedback:
“By far we’ve now had 13, 14 public meetings around the state since we’ve started I-70 across the state. By far this is the most well attended. So I think it shows that the public is really interested … maybe a little apprehensive for how this is going to come together,” he says.

Kopinski says feedback on the project has been very positive, for the most part:
“And so we’re happy to hear that. We’d encourage anyone that wasn’t able to make it out the last couple of days … all this information is still online. They can still get ahold of us. They can still reach out to us to address their questions or give us concerns on how we may be able to do a little better,” says Kopinski.
