Downtown Columbia’s popular Candy Factory opened in 1974 and was owned by Georgia and Earl Lundgren. The Candy Factory was one of Columbia’s first female-owned businesses when it opened. Candy Factory owner Mike Adkinson joined us live on 939 the Eagle’s “Wake Up Mid-Missouri” to discuss their 50th anniversary and his thoughts on Georgia and Earl. Mr. Adkinson’s parents bought the Candy Factory in 1986 and now Mike and his wife Amy run it. Business is thriving and is busier now than ever before. Mr. Adkinson credits hard work and excellent customer service for the Candy Factory’s success:
