30 Columbia restaurants are participating in the first-ever ten-day Columbia restaurant week (CRW), which aims to spotlight the city’s diverse culinary talent and support local businesses through food.

One of the 30 restaurants is the popular Glenn’s Café downtown. Glyn Laverick, who owns Glenn’s Café, says there’s a great diversity of food among the 30 restaurants:

“You’ve got some of the staples of Columbia like Murry’s and Shakespeare’s that are involved and then also new additions like Endwell,” Mr. Laverick says.

You have an opportunity this week in Columbia to enjoy delicious food and help your hungry neighbors in mid-Missouri. Columbia restaurant week benefits the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. Mr. Laverick tells 939 the Eagle that Wednesday’s kickoff event alone raised about $5,000 for the food bank. He says food food is the one universal thing that really connects us all:

“And I think just sitting down and breaking bread together is one of the true happiness that everybody can share. I think the other part of it that’s helping connect all of this is our support with the food bank,” he says.

You don’t need a ticket to participate. You can visit any of the 30 participating restaurants through Sunday August 3 and ask for the CRW menu. Other participating restaurants include the Dive Bar on the Business Loop, Broadway Brewery and both Como Smoke and Fire locations. You can find the full list of restaurants here.
