Local counties add coronavirus cases; state changes test reporting

Boone County has added 12 coronavirus cases in the last four days, and now has 22 active.

Cole County now has three active cases. Callaway County added three new cases Tuesday, and now reports five active cases. Audrain County continues its recent climb, with 56 active cases now.

The state added one COVID-19 death Tuesday, and now reports 686 total. There were 124 new confirmed cases, for a total of 12,291.

Missouri health officials said over the weekend the state had been lumping virus tests together when reporting how many people came up positive. That includes antibodies tests, which look to see if there is an infection in the past. After that, the reported rate of positive tests went up a lot, and is at 7.6% statewide.
