Boone County reports another two COVID-19 patients have died.
Health officials said Tuesday one patient was between 65 and 69 years old, and the other was older than 80. Boone County has confirmed 40 total deaths from the illness, with 12 of those reported in the first half of December.
There were 124 new coronavirus cases reported in Boone County on Wednesday. Active cases went up, to 909.
Hospitalizations in Boone fell a bit, to 130. Hospitals are still operating at “yellow” status, meaning resources are strained and some surgeries are being delayed.
Cole County reported 46 new coronavirus cases Wednesday. The county no longer reports the current number of active cases.
Active cases in Callaway County fell again on Wednesday, to 507.
