Boone County reported three COVID-19 deaths on Thursday.
Health officials said Thursday morning a patient between 60-64 years old died, and then said Thursday afternoon that two more passed away. One of those patients was between 75-79 years old, and the other was older than 80. That’s now 43 deaths from the virus in the county.
Active coronavirus cases went up in Boone County on Thursday. There were 173 new positive cases in Boone, pushing active cases up to 1,021. Hospitalizations dropped, to 126, but are still putting a strain on resources.
New case numbers were relatively low in Cole and Callaway counties. Cole added 46 positives, and Callaway added 19. Active cases dropped in Callaway, to 507.
