Boone County reported its 74th death from COVID-19 Tuesday, a patient between 10 and 19 years old. Health officials say it’s the first time someone younger than 40 has died from the illness in Boone.
There were 24 new coronavirus cases confirmed Wednesday. Active cases went up, to 177. Hospitalizations also rose, to 39, but are not straining resources.
Cole County reported seven more COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, for a total of 108. There were 27 new coronavirus cases confirmed since Friday.
Callaway County reported its 40th death from COVID-19 Wednesday. Active cases in the county went down to 113, after 14 new positives since Friday.
