Boone County confirmed its 71st death from COVID-19 Thursday. Health officials say the patient was older than 80.
The county’s five-day average of new coronavirus cases went down, to 42, which is the lowest that average has bene since October. There were 33 new positives Thursday. Active cases went down, to 421. Hospitalizations went up a bit to 62, but are not straining resources.
Cole County added 15 new cases Thursday. Callaway added 16 cases, and active cases fell a lot to 178.
MU Health Care started mass coronavirus vaccinations on Thursday morning at Faurot Field.
