Local COVID-19 Update (Nov. 30)

Boone County reported its 27th death from COVID-19 Monday. Health officials say the patient was between 55 and 59 years old.

There were just 75 new coronavirus positives in Boone County on Monday. There have been at least 100 new cases in Boone in 12 of the last 15 days. Active cases went way down, to 729.

Hospitalizations went up a little, to 161. Hospitals in Boone County are still at ‘yellow’ status, meaning some surgeries are being delayed and resources are strained.

The number of people hospitalized with the coronavirus in the St. Louis area set another new record Sunday even as the most-recent statewide hospitalization numbers declined slightly. The St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force said the seven-day average of new patients in the area increased by 13 to 897 Sunday to set a record for the third day in a row. The data includes patients from BJC HealthCare, Mercy, SSM Health and St. Luke’s Hospital facilities in the St. Louis area. Statewide, the number of hospitalizations dropped to 2,654 from 2,813 on Thursday, which was the most-recent data available.
