Cole County reported another COVID-19 death Thursday. It’s the 20th death from the disease in the county overall and the fifth one reported this week.
Active coronavirus cases went down in Cole on Thursday, with 29 new positives reported.
Boone reported its 16th death from the illness Wednesday, a patient in his or her late 70s. The county reported 27 new cases, and a decrease in active cases to 348 on Thursday. Hospitalizations went up slightly, to 87, but remain below capacity.
Callaway County announced on Wednesday it has changed the way it reports active coronavirus cases. It is removing Fulton State Hospital and prison numbers from that total. It brought the official listing of active Callaway County cases down from 199 on Tuesday to 101 on Wednesday. That number went up to 103 on Thursday with two new cases reported.
Gov. Parson said during his press conference on Wednesday that the state is averaging about 1,600 new coronavirus cases a day.
