Local vaccine clinic update: new event scheduled at Columbia Mall

Boone County health officials announce they are working with the state health department and the Missouri National Guard on a coronavirus vaccine clinic at Columbia Mall.

They will give 1,000 people a day the Pfizer shot next Monday and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can schedule an appointment for this and other local clinics through the state’s vaccine navigator.

Capital Mall in Jefferson City is in its first week of a semi-permanent vaccination clinic, distributing the Pfizer vaccine. The event scheduled at the Cole County Health Department on Thursday has been canceled, because officials were going to distribute the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Mid-Missouri is still seeing mild coronavirus case increases. Boone County reported 16 new positives on Thursday. There are 108 active cases, but hospitalizations have dropped to another low, at seven. Cole County reported three new cases.
